Mosaic names NSU in Top Inclusive Workplace Cultures

(Tahlequah, Oklahoma) -- With a five-star rating, Northeastern State University was honored as one of the region’s 2017 Top Inclusive Workplace Cultures by Mosaic, the Tulsa Regional Chamber’s diversity business council, on Oct. 24.
This recognition is given annually at Mosaic’s Economic Inclusion Forum to area employers with robust diversity and inclusion strategies. Scored on responses to Mosaic’s annual Inclusive Workplace Cultures survey, 44 organizations received a tiered ranking of three, four and five stars based on the strength of their programming.
To gain recognition as a Top Inclusive Workspace, an organization must meet certain criteria based on each of the five key metrics that drive Mosaic’s work: CEO commitment, diverse suppliers, people, internal policies and community outreach.
NSU was one of 24 organizations that received a five-star rating.
"Diversity is one of NSU’s seven core values in our strategic plan,” said NSU President Dr. Steve Turner. “Sustaining an inclusive workplace is a key component as we promote the rights of individuals, provide equal access, respect cultural differences and ensure equal opportunity."
Dr. Roy Wood, dean of the NSU Broken Arrow campus, and Dr. Deborah Landry, interim provost and vice president of Academic Affairs, were both present to receive the award for NSU at the forum.
