NSU, Sequoyah Institute announce 2019-20 lineup for performing arts series

(Tahlequah, Oklahoma) - Northeastern State University’s Sequoyah Institute has announced its 2019-20 season. The lineup offers quality entertainment for all ages.

This year’s shows will include Artrageous, Thunder and Rain, Jeri Sager and a Frankie Valli Tribute. In addition to the regular season shows, season ticket holders will also enjoy two tickets to the summer 2020 River City Players productions.

This season will include the following special guest performances:

On Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m., Artrageous artists, musicians, singers and dancers will create a masterpiece before your eyes in mere moments. With a palette that mixes captivating vocals, intricate choreography and exciting audience interaction, Artrageous takes you on a unique visual journey packed with inspiration, creativity and fun!

On Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m., Thunder and Rain’s four-piece acoustic Americana band will blend their favorite elements of bluegrass, country, pop and alt-rock to cultivate their own take on the American roots music traditions.

On Jan. 30 at 7:30 p.m., Jeri Sager will present “This Broad’s Way” in a high energy and vocally exceptional celebration of Broadway. It’s the songs, the roles and the stories she has collected during her spectacular career as a Broadway actress. The show will include favorites from shows she has starred in such as “Cats,” “Evita” and “Les Miserables.”

On March 26 at 7:30 p.m., “Let’s Hang On!” has established itself as America’s preeminent Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons tribute group by combining spot-on vocals and crisp choreography with a genuine ability to entertain an audience. This polished stage show features four outstanding male vocalists who sing and dance their way through some of the best songs of all time including: "Sherry," "Big Girls Don’t Cry" and "Walk Like A Man!"

“This season we are excited about the variety of shows we have found for our audience,” said Robyn Pursley, assistant dean of the College of Liberal Arts. “We have visual art fused with live music, a Broadway vocal star, a folk band with a twist and a tribute to a classic rock and roll supergroup—there is truly something for everyone in this upcoming season!”

Season tickets are the most economical way to enjoy the season with a 20% savings for purchasing full season tickets. Season tickets are $80 for adults, $74 for seniors, $67 for NSU alumni and NSU employees and $44 for youth under 17.

Individual performance tickets are available at $20 for adults, $18 for seniors over the age of 60, $16 for NSU alumni and NSU employees $10 for youth under 17 and special discounts for NSU students with valid NSU ID.

Group discounts are also available.
