TAHLEQUAH With an enchanting musical talent inherited from his father and fine-tuned through years of performing on stage, Steve March Torm has created a name for himself in the music business. Torm will bring his swinging and scatting style to Northeastern State University in the form of his latest musical showcase Totally Torm.

Part of the Sequoyah Institutes 22nd Annual Galaxy of Stars Series, the performance will take place on Friday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the NSU Center for the Performing Arts.

Steve is the son of the Mel Velvet Fog Torm. This music legend has been hailed one of the greatest of scat singers of all time. This talent for scat was passed along to Steve who can sing the words to a classic from the American Songbook and then launch into a scat that will take the song to new heights.

While growing up, Steve befriended many second-generation show biz kids, like Desi Arnaz Jr., Dean Martin Jr., Miguel Ferrer, Carrie Fisher and Liza Minnelli, with whom he later ended up working. He counts among his musical influences Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Todd Rundgren and Steely Dan.

Steve has wooed audiences in everything from intimate jazz clubs to festivals and performing arts centers across the country.
