River City Players line-up filled with love

(Tahlequah, Okla.)-- The River City Players performances begin just as summer starts heating up.The sun however, is not the only thing that has been heating up for RCP.

This years cast has seen the fruition of two love stories with the weddings of cast members Sydney and Michael Rappe in March 2015 and Aspen and Adam Childress in May 2015.

The Childresses

For Adam and Aspen, this is their first season with RCP. High school sweethearts who met in their high school drama class her freshman and his sophomore year; both are heavily involved in the theatre company here at NSU. It seemed a natural fit for them to audition for RCP after hearing others rave about it.

So far, both have quickly decided that they cant wait to come back for future seasons with RCP. For Aspen, the connections shes made with the crew in such a short amount of time speak volumes. For Adam, being able to combine some of his favorite songs and having a blast while doing it, has him sold on future seasons.

Both Childresses agree that planning a wedding around rehearsals was a bit tricky, but having almost every cast member at their wedding made the event even more special. Also, both agreed that working together for RCP has brought them the closest theyve ever been.

As current students, both agree that RCP has given them a stronger sense of confidence in themselves as performers and individuals chasing their dreams.

For Adam, this experience has shown him that following his dreams is possible with a little hard work and dedication. For me, it has shown me how much that you can accomplish if you all work together and everyone does their part, Aspen said.

The Rappes

The Rappes are experienced RCP performers, with Sydney returning for her fourth season as a performer and second as a choreographer and Michael returning for his fifth season as a River City Player.

The couple met in the summer of 2012 when Sydney returned home from her first year at the University of Central Oklahoma to perform with RCP.

Thats when she metlong-haired hippie with earrings and a guitar, who turned out to be Mike.

Sydney explained that although the entire cast spent almost every minute together, sheand Mike gravitated toward one another and fell into a relationship naturally. The couple fondly remembers the first song they ever sang together, "Forever and Ever, Amen."

He is one of the most kind, thoughtful, talented, and unique individuals I know. While after finishing up our RCP season,we had a kind of long-distance relationship that was hard;we made it work. It'scrazy to think that if I would not have accepted the position for RCP, I would have never met Mike, she said.
