Native American, Optometry Convocations Set

TAHLEQUAH Northeastern State University will host the Oklahoma College of Optometry and Native American Convocations on Friday, May 9 in Tahlequah.

The Native American Convocation, honoring students of American Indian descent receiving their degrees, will be held at 3:00 p.m. in the NET Building Auditorium.

The NSUOCO Convocation, which honors the students graduating with doctorates in optometry, will be held at 6 p.m. in the NSU Center for the Performing Arts. A reception for the graduates will follow at the Sen. Herb Rozell Ballroom in the University Center.

The Spring 2008 Commencement Ceremonies will be held Saturday, May 10 at Doc Wadley Stadium at Gable Field in Tahlequah, and Monday, May 12 at 7 p.m. at the Union Multipurpose Activity Center in Tulsa for the Broken Arrow campus.

Commencement ceremonies on the Tahlequah campus for the College of Education, College of Science and Health Professions and the College of Optometry are at 9 a.m., with the College of Business and Technology and the College of Liberal Arts to follow at noon.

Rep. Dan Boren will present the commencement address at the Tahlequah ceremony, and Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education Chancellor Glen Johnson will present the commencement address at Broken Arrow.
