OCRD Launches New Websites To Aid Economic Development
TAHLEQUAH The Oklahoma Center for Rural Development at Northeastern State University recently launched two websites, OkvcData.com and CityVue.us, to support the states economic development. The two sites are companions to www.OklahomaVirtualCommunity.com, launched last year.
Users from over 200 Oklahoma communities, 45 states and 15 countries have utilized the information provided on these sites,
say Ray Murphy, OCRD coordinator. Our sites provides extensive analysis of the state of Oklahoma on a variety of topics, including community information, health care data, and environmental statistics.
OkvcData.com provides Oklahomas communities a centralized location to create, store and exchange their community information. Each community is provided the capability to enter their community information online, in a standard format. Once a community has added their information, it can be edited at any time so that the information can stay current with changes that take place.
The site provides various economic profiles, including city, education, transportation and utility services, as well as city attributes like lodging, attractions and events, major employers and restaurants. A section of the website is also dedicated to building and industrial site information, with images of each area.
Comprehensive reports on individual communities can be downloaded from the site, but information can only be updated by registered users.
CityVue.us is a full functional mini-OklahomaVirtualCommunity.com website that can be directly linked into any agencys website. The site displays information that is collected on the OkvcData.com website.
The site can display information based upon a city, county or partnership name. The information is available to anyone who wants to link an Oklahoma area to their website.
