TAHLEQUAH The Northeastern State University College of Science and Technology Department of Chemistry recently presented Joshua Coats, of Salina, with the CRC Press Freshman Achievement Award for outstanding academic achievement in first-year chemistry.
The CRC Press Freshman Achievement Award is presented at more than 2,000 universities and colleges across the nation. Winning students receive a complimentary copy of the CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics and a commemorative scroll to be mounted on the inside front cover.

Joshua, a Chemistry major, is a member of the NSU Honors Program and plans on attending dental school upon graduation from Northeastern.
