Rho Theta Sigma Host Spring 2008 Initiation

TAHLEQUAH- Northeastern State University recently inducted 78 students in Rho Theta Sigma, the institutions oldest honor society, at a banquet held in the Sen. Herb Rozell Ballroom at the University Center.

Initiates Kelly Willis, Brett Wilmon and Tayler Fruechting received the Daniel Hansen Scholarship during the ceremony.

B.J. Dumond, chief executive officer of Simple Simon Pizza, was keynote speaker at the event. Rho Theta Sigma sponsors Kin Thompson, assistant professor of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Dr. Sally Armstrong, professor of Educational Foundations and Leadership, Dr. Martha Parrott, associate professor of Mathematics, and Dr. Craig Clifford, professor of Biology, conducted the induction. Former Rho Theta Sigma officers, Challis McDonald, president, Dustin Christ, vice president, and Alisha Powell, secretary, assisted with the ceremony.

Members of the honor society also elected officers for 2008-2009, including President Shane Franklin, Vice President Shu Nakai, and Secretary Mike Johnson.

To qualify for Rho Theta Sigma, students must have a 3.6 grade point average for at least one semester as a full time student, or a 3.4 grade point average over two semesters as a full time student, and attend the initiation banquet.
