NSU kicks-off Welcome Week 2015
(Tahlequah, Okla.)-- Monday, Aug. 17 kicked-off the first day of school for both the Tahlequah and Broken Arrow campuses and each have a slew of fun events slated to welcome students back.
Tahlequah
There are plenty of fun activities scheduled all week.
Traditions will hold fast on Aug. 18, when incoming freshmen can participate in the annual Coin Walk at3:30 p.m. at Second Century Square followed by Freshman Convocation at4 p.m. at the Center for Performing Arts. To conclude the day, students are encouraged to attend the Residence Halls Associations Luau, which will feature a student organization fair from5 to 8 p.m. in the UC Ballroom.
On Wednesday, Aug. 19, students seeking employment for the school year can attend the Part-Time Job Fair hosted by Career Services from11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the University Center Lobby basement. Wrapping up the evening, students can bring their inner child to join NAB for Late Night Capture the Flag from9 to 11 p.m.
The Center for Tribal Studies and the Indigenous Scholar Development Center will be hosting several events on Thursday, Aug. 20, open to all students. N8TVE Connections will take place at Seminary Suites from1 to 6 p.m.with games, food and prizes.
Gatheration will take place from5 to 7 p.m. at Beta Field and will also have games, prizes and food available. Students also have the option of attending a performance by comedian, Geoff Keith, from7 to 8 p.m. in the UC Ballroom.
NAB will also be hosting poster sales from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the UC basement on Thursday andFriday.
To celebrate the completion of the first week of school BCM will be hosting a Hoedown at the river onFriday, Aug. 21, from 7 to 10 p.m.
Broken Arrow
NSUs Broken Arrow campus will also be hosting events throughout the week to welcome students.
On Monday, Aug. 17, Student Affairs personnel were in the Education Buildings lobby for Donuts and Directions from8 to 10 a.m.There was also a Welcome Expo from3 to 5 p.m. in the Administrative Services Building lobby.
There will be Meet and Greets on Tuesday,WednesdayandThursdayfrom4 to 6 p.m.Tuesdays event will be in the Liberal Arts Building lobby,Wednesdaysin the Education Building Lobby andThursdaysin the Business & Technology Building lobby.
