Upward, Onward: NSU Enrollment Numbers Continue to Soar February 17

Just four years shy of its centennial celebration, Northeastern State University has ample reason to celebrate as NSU welcomes more than 8,900 students for the Spring 2005 semester, the largest spring enrollment since 1996. Oklahoma-s premier regional university also broke records for individual campus totals and credit-hour production.

-Northeastern is very focused on meeting the demands of the marketplace, both for students looking for a university and for employers looking to hire our graduates,- said Dr. Larry Williams, NSU president. -As more and more students continue to invest in their future, it is imperative that we provide the educational experience that prepares them for a career and an enjoyable life. The continued growth in our enrollment indicates that we are succeeding in this purpose.-

Campus Totals. Continuing its unprecedented growth since its opening, Northeastern-s Broken Arrow campus reports a 6.4 percent increase in enrollment surpassing last year-s spring enrollment figures. To date, 2,618 students are taking classes at the growing NSUBA campus. Offering a more traditional education fare, Northeastern-s main campus is serving 6,915 on its scenic campus, continuing its steady increase over the past five years. NSU-s Muskogee campus is serving more than 580 students for the spring semester.

Credit-Hour Production. Continuing a record-breaking trend that started five years ago, credit-hour production at Northeastern has also soared. This semester marks the highest spring credit hour to date with NSU students logging more than 104,691 credit hours.
