Okmulgee Resident Wins Car at NSU Punt, Pass and Kick Competition

TAHLEQUAH What started with a bet between Braxton Huckabee and his girlfriend Tiffany Morrow ended with Huckabee, of Okmulgee, driving away in a 2009 Ford Focus.

My girlfriend, Tiffany, is one of the cheerleaders at NSU, and she called me from the tailgate and said she had entered this competition to win a new car, said Huckabee, who recently graduated from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. I told her I was coming down there to enter too, and if my name was drawn I was going to win it.

Huckabee won the new car, provided by Stuteville Ford of Tahlequah, in the Punt, Pass and Kick Competition held during halftime of the Northeastern State University football game on Saturday, Oct. 18.

When they called my name, I was pretty nervous, said Huckabee, who works at the Oklahoma Department of Human Services in Okmulgee. When Tiffany found out that I was doing the event, she kept gesturing at the car and acting like she was driving it while she was down on the field cheering. Right before I went out on the field, she told me to go win her car.

And thats exactly what he did. Huckabee threw the ball 60 yards, punted the ball 36 yards and topped it off with a 24-yard field goal.

When I actually won the car, Tiffany came running out on the field screaming and just about tackled me, said Huckabee. The first thing she said was that she couldn't believe that I had won her a new car.

Huckabee has spent the past few days driving around in his new car enjoying the great gas mileage, and isn't sure what hes going to do with the car yet.
