NSUOCO Student Receives Air Force Commission

Capt. Michael Higgins, director of the ROTC program at NSU, administered the oath of office to Summer Hilton

TAHLEQUAH Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry second-year student Summer Hilton was commissioned into the U.S. Air Force at a special ceremony with family, classmates, friends and faculty members.

Capt. Michael Higgins, director of the ROTC program at NSU, administered the oath of office to Hilton.

Hilton, of Camdenton, Mo., is the daughter of Vickie and Gene Hilton. She earned her bachelors degree from Drury University in Springfield, Mo., and is the treasurer of the Optometric Student Association and secretary/treasurer of Women in Optometry.
