NSUBA Presents ‘The Vagina Monologues’
NSUBA Presents The Vagina Monologues
BROKEN ARROW The Northeastern State University College of Liberal Arts will present The Vagina Monologues on Feb. 20-21 at 6:30 p.m. in the Banquet Hall of Building A on the Broken Arrow campus.
Singer/songwriter Susan Herndon will also perform on Friday, Feb. 20 at 6:15 p.m. to open the show.
The Vagina Monologues help support V-Day, a global movement to stop violence against women and girls. V-Day is a catalyst that promotes creative events to increase awareness, raise money and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations. V-Day generates broader attention for the fight to stop violence against women and girls, including rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation (FGM) and sexual slavery.
All proceeds raised from the two-night production will go to the Tulsa chapter of Girls, Inc., a national nonprofit youth organization dedicated to inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. With roots dating to 1864, Girls, Inc. has provided vital educational programs to millions of American girls, particularly those in high-risk, underserved areas. Today, innovative programs help girls confront subtle societal messages about their value and potential, and prepare them to lead successful, independent and fulfilling lives.
Tickets for the show are $5 and may be purchased at the door. For more information, contact Dr. Chris Malone at 918-449-6575 or Dr. Kendra Zoellner at 918-449-6553.
