Reasor To Present Battenfield-Carletti Distinguished Entrepreneur Lecture

TAHLEQUAH Local businessman Jeff Reasor will present the Northeastern State University Battenfield-Carletti Distinguished Entrepreneur Lecture on Monday, Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. in the NSU NET Auditorium.
A 1973 graduate of Tahlequah High School, Jeff attended NSU for two years on a football scholarship before leaving school to work full-time for the familys growing grocery store business. Jeff learned the business from the ground up, doing everything from working pop bottles to managing stores. He even cleaned the bathrooms and mopped floors.
You can not lead people if you are not willing to do the job yourself, Jeff says, a thought he continues to draw on when considering promotions.
Jeff became president of Reasor's in 1998 and chairman and chief executive officer in 2004. He serves on the Board of Directors and the finance committee of Associated Wholesale Grocers out of Kansas City, the second largest Co-op serving independent grocers in the nation. Locally he is chairman of the Industrial Trust Authority for the city of Tahlequah.
In 2004, Jeff and his family, friends and loved ones established the Larry Reasor Endowed Memorial Scholarship at NSU honoring his late father and founder of the company. Approximately eight years ago, he also established the endowed Retail Sales and Marketing Institute in the NSU College of Business & Technology.
Established in 2002 by Dr. Harold Battenfield and Dr. John Carletti through the NSU Foundation, the Battenfield-Carletti Distinguished Entrepreneur Lecture Series brings NSU alumni to campus to share their entrepreneurial experiences with students.
