Starling, Watson Headline Third Annual NSU Clarinet Day

TAHLEQUAH Two talented clarinetists will headline the third annual Northeastern State University Clarinet Day on Saturday, March 7 at the NSU Jazz Lab. Dr. Jana Starling, assistant professor of Clarinet at Arizona State University, and Dr. Anne A. Watson, assistant professor of Clarinet of NSU, will each perform and conduct classes during the day-long event.

Starling, the featured guest artist, is an accomplished clarinetist performing regularly with the Phoenix Metropolitan Opera, The Phoenix Symphony and the Arizona Opera. She has served as guest artist at numerous festivals throughout the United States and Canada. Watson is an active performer and currently holds the principal clarinet position with the Arizona Opera Orchestra.

This festival, with attendees from around the state, is an event for clarinetists and clarinet enthusiasts of all ages and abilities. Applications should be submitted by March 1. There is a fee of $10 to attend ($20 dollars if submitted after March 1, 2009).
