NSU Career Services to host career-readiness workshop – Sept. 30

(Tahlequah, Okla.)-- On Wednesday, Sept. 30, from 2 to 3 p.m. in the University Center, room 223 on the Tahlequah campus, Career Services will host Career Quest, an interactive presentation aimed at providing students with necessary skills for professional successes.

The presentation will be lead by Jodi Jones, a career counselor at NSU, and will focus on interviewing techniques and resume tips. Each student in attendance will also have the opportunity to create a personalized career timeline.

We hope that students will find valuable tips that will aid them in finding professional development opportunities and later secure a job that they feel proud of, Kendra Sweet, career events specialist at NSU said.

Students can register for the event by logging on to CareerLink at www.hireNSUgrads.com and using their NSU email address. Registration can be found under the Career Events tab.

Although this is the first year for Career Quest, Career Services has a full calendar of events planned to help students get prepared for the professional world.

We want students to start taking part in professional development early in their journey, Sweet said. Events like Career Quest can launch students into new information and ideas about how they should be preparing themselves for the job market. It is our hope that these events set a foundation for students and they are able to gain basic skills for their career endeavors.

For more information about Career Quest or other professional development opportunities that Career Services has available, contact Kendra Sweet at 918-444-3115 or sweetk@nsuok.edu.
