NSU Career Services offers learning experience through etiquette dinner

Northeastern State Universitys students have the opportunity for a crash course in etiquette. NSUs Career Services will host a Networking and Etiquette dinner, teaching students manners and hands-on practice for dining and networking in a professional setting.

The three-course meal event is Tuesday, Sept. 22 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Event Center, Community Room on the Tahlequah campus.

Employer sponsors will also be present to share information and tips for success with attendees.

We are hoping for students to take advantage of this amazing opportunity so that they can go in to any professional environment feeling confident and prepared, Kendra Sweet, career events specialist at NSU said.

Although the Networking and Etiquette event has taken place several times over the past several years, NSUs own, Autumn Stafford, assistant director of Career Services, recently became certified as an Etiquette Coach and will be using her newly gained knowledge and experience to continue to better the event for students in attendance.

Networking and dining etiquette is something that all of us must take part in at some point in our lives, Sweet said. Whether students take part in a wedding reception, dinner or a lunch interview, the tips and relationships that they gain at this event will help to make those moments a success. NSU students can utilize these skills to professionally represent themselves, organizations and our community.
