NSU Science & Technology Seminar Series continues Oct. 7

(Tahlequah, Okla.)-- Dr. Cameron Siler from the University of Oklahomas Department of Biology will be the second speaker for Northeastern State Universitys Science and Technology Seminar Series onWednesday, Oct. 7.

He will be presenting his lecture Endangered Geckos and Limbless Lizards: Integrative Studies of Evolutionary Diversifications in an Island Archipelago System.

Through his presentation, he plans to explain his programs approach to understanding biodiversity, including investigating the evolution of morphology and body-form, patterns of diversification, cryptic diversity, speciation in island archipelago systems and emerging infectious amphibian diseases through research focused on genetic patterns.

Siler's research interests are driven largely by a theme that researchers for generations have been captivated byhow and why species evolve.

The Science & Technology Seminar Series is arranged by Dr. John de Banzie, professor of biology at NSU. There is no charge for the seminars and they are open to all who wish to attend.
