NSU Announces Impact Award Winners

TAHLEQUAH Northeastern State University announced that students Caleb Long, of Coweta, and DeeAnn Amlin, of Tahlequah, are the first winners of the NSU Impact Awards. The awards were announced in conjunction with Earth Day on Wednesday, April 22.

The NSU Student Activities Office and the Volunteer Center partnered to create the NSU Impact Awards, which provide financial support to implement ideas from students that positively impact the university.

Long received funding for a campus beautification project that will plant a flower bed outside of Ross Hall, while Amlin received funding to purchase steel recycling receptacles to place in the University Center to encourage the campus community to participate in the universitys new recycling program.

Both projects will be completed by the end of the Spring 2009 semester.
