NSU Inauguration Ceremony Moved To Jack Dobbins Field House

TAHLEQUAH Northeastern State University will host the Installation of Dr. Don Betz as the 17th President of the Institution on Friday, May 1 at 2 p.m. in Jack Dobbins Field House. The ceremony was moved in doors due to inclement weather.

A pre-Inauguration Concert will begin at 1:15 p.m. featuring the NSU Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Norman Wika, and the Northeastern State University Singers, led by Dr. Donald Studebaker, with Dr. Mark Bighley and Dr. Ronald Chioldi accompanying on the piano.

Guest speakers at the ceremony include Drew Edmondson, Attorney General for the State of Oklahoma, Ken Purdy, Mayor of the City of Tahlequah, Merideth Frailey, First Speaker of the Cherokee Nation Tribal Council, Peggy Glenn-Summitt, NSU alumnae, Dr. Craig Clifford, Professor of Biology and NSU Faculty Council President, Glen Evans, NSU Student Body President, Glen Johnson, Chancellor of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, and Jan Gordon, President-elect of the Regional University System of Oklahoma. NSU Alumnus and BancFirst Vice President of Financial Services, Jay Hannah, will serve as the presiding officer during the ceremony.
