Stars in the Summer Series Begins June 18 at Northeastern State University

TAHLEQUAH Rehearsal continues for Northeastern State University's Stars in the Summer Series featuring Downtown Country and the River City Players. The popular music shows debut June 18.

"We are gearing up for one of the best summers to date," said Megan White, director of the Sequoyah Institute. "The stages are going to be overflowing with talent and energy."

"If you've always wanted to check out the summer shows, but time just seemed to slip by, call us and make reservations for this summer. Tickets go fast and we want everyone to have chance to see the shows."

The 2009 Stars in the Summer Series runs every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from June 18 to Aug. 8.

Relive memorable musical moments from the classic "By the Light of the Silvery Moon" to NSU's very own Carrie Underwood's "Home Sweet Home." Watch 100 years come to life in "Centennial Soundtrack!"

River City Sockhop

Kick off your shoes and stroll back in time for "River City Sockhop!" Dance through the 50s and 60s with our favorite blasts from the past. Sway through the golden era of rock 'n' roll with Connie Francis' classic "Where the Boys Are" to the Beach Boys' timeless anthem, "Surfer Girl."

The 2009 Stars in the Summer Series is sponsored by the Tahlequah Area Tourism Council. Tickets for the shows are $12 for adults, $10 for NSU alumni and employees, $8 for seniors and groups of 20 or more, and $6 for students and children.
