Playwright to Present "Sara"

TAHLEQUAH Take a trip back to the early days of the Cherokee National Female Seminary with "Sara," a fictional account of one Cherokee girls life during a performance on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 5:30 p.m. in Northeastern State University's Seminary Hall Conference Room.

Local playwright Peggy Jo Hall writes a tale of one persons journey through life and the crossroads she faced. Sara, the lead character, is a strong willed Cherokee girl.

Although set at the Cherokee National Female Seminary in 1856 in a territory later known as Oklahoma, the play's message transcends time. Inspired by the social unrest of the 1960s, Sara battles the same economic, social, and moral struggles that still affect people today.
