NSU Continuing Education announces courses

(TAHLEQUAH) Northeastern State University's Continuing Education begins a series of short courses during the week of Oct. 5 9.

An MCLE seminar is Oct. 9 in the Tower Room of the NET Building. The seminar runs from 9 a.m. 4 p.m. and cost is $125.

Attorneys attending the MCLE Special Topics Legal Seminar receive seven approved credit hours with the MCLE Commission Oklahoma Bar Association.

Speakers are assistant district attorneys Justin Garrett of Wagoner, Larry Langley of Stilwell and Ryan Wyrik of Sallisaw; Tahlequah attorney Park Medearis and Tery DeShong, regional administrator for Eastern Oklahoma Child Support Enforcement.

Topics in the seminar include "Recent Developments in Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure," "Anatomy of Juvenile Delinquency," "Overview of the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act and the Oklahoma Open Records Act," "Child Support Enforcement Act" and "Legal Ethics."

An ACT preparation course runs Oct. 7 Dec. 9 in the Science Building, Room 246. Fee is $99.

Two Twinkle Kids Tap & Ballet classes are available and run Oct. 6 Nov. 24. The early course is 3:15 4:15 p.m. for ages 4-5. The late course, for ages 6-9, is 4:30 5:30 p.m. Fee for either course is $55.

A Latin Dance class runs Oct. 5 26 in the North Gym. Fee is $60 a couple or $35 per person.
