NSU Announces 2016 Centurions
(Tahlequah, Okla.)-- An NSU Centurion is an individual whose leadership and commitment, in the course of helping others, has made a significant impact during the universitys history. The honors are given to NSU alumni, faculty, staff, students, or any member of the NSU community whether past or present who impacted the life of the nominator, the Northeastern community, or the public at large. A Centurion can be living or deceased and should embody the legacy and spirit of Northeastern State University.
Since selecting 100 individuals as inaugural recipients of the Centurion Award during its Centennial Celebration in 2009, NSU has added 10 names to the Centurion list each year.
Nominations have been received and reviewed, and 10 new individuals will be honored as 2016 Northeastern State University Centurions.
The 2016 NSU Centurions are: Carol Ann Barkley, 1978 alumna; Dr. Karen Carey, NSU faculty member; Dr. Isabel Cobb, 1879 alumna (deceased); Brian Craig Cromley, community supporter; Zoe Davis, 1939 alumna and NSU faculty member (deceased); Dr. Joseph Faulds, NSU faculty member; Anna Knight, 1986 and 1993 alumna; Dr. Elizabeth Ann Nalley, 1966 alumna; Janice Randall, 1971 alumna; and Dr. Larry Rice, 1975 and 1979 alumnus.
