33rd Annual Symposium on the American Indian Focuses on Ideas, Contributions April 11

TAHLEQUAH - Indigenous Innovations: Celebrating the Centennial of an Idea, The Great State of Sequoyah & Other American Indian Contributions will be the theme of the 33rd Annual Symposium on the American Indian to be held April 13-16 at Northeastern State University (University Center -Tahlequah campus).

Conference topics will highlight the history, legacies, and impact of American Indian ideas, innovations, and contribution on tribal and nontribal populations of the United States. The three-day symposium agenda includes multimedia presentations, scholarly research, lectures, a native language seminar, teacher workshops, theater, cultural activities, arts and crafts, exhibitions, panel discussions, and other activities that give focus to historical topics and contemporary issues of American Indians. The symposium, which draws a national audience, is open to the public and free of charge.
