The 22,500 square-foot indoor athletic practice facility was funded through private donations to the NSU Foundation from several individuals and entities. Significant contributions were received from alumni Gregg and Betsy Wadley and Ryker and Tina Young.
Several other individuals and businesses helped generate the approximately $700,000 needed for the project. The donations come on the heels of a $3.5 million renovation and construction project currently in progress at Doc Wadley Stadium.
-The first building on this campus supported entirely by private donations, the Redmen Indoor Practice Facility will serve as a monument of what can be achieved thanks to the support of NSU alumni and friends,- said NSU President Dr. Larry Williams. -We are truly grateful for the support that has enhanced the offerings at Oklahoma-s premier regional university.-
The 150-foot by 150-foot air-supported structure stands 50 feet tall and features 30 yards of artificial turf. A 40-foot by 100-foot strength and conditioning area and coaches and players meeting room is also included. The new state-of the-art dome is cost efficient as well as attractive.
