NSU Professor Dr. Larry Bell Receives Oklahoma Counselor of the Year Award
TAHLEQUAH - Northeastern State University is proud to announce that Dr. Larry Bell has received the Oklahoma Counselor of the Year Award. Given annually since 1980, the prestigious award honors one of Oklahoma\'d5s counselors each year.
Dr. Bell, associate professor of psychology and counseling, was chosen to represent the Northeast region of the state and finally selected by the committee as Counselor of the Year.
"We are very pleased to have one of our faculty recognized and honored for his expertise," said Dr. Kay Lallier Grant, dean for the College of Education.
Presented by the Oklahoma Counseling Association, the award honors counselors who show excellence in several areas. Criteria range from membership and contribution to professional counseling or mental health organizations and work experience, to references and civic responsibilities.
An 18-year faculty member at Northeastern, Dr. Bell has contributed much to his community, both on-campus and off.
