NSU Named 'Best Regional University' by Oklahoma Living Magazine Readers
TAHLEQUAH - Oklahomans agree, Northeastern State University is Oklahoma's premier regional university. Oklahoma Living Magazine, Oklahoma's largest monthly publication subscribed to by more than 285,000 households across the state, recently named NSU the "Best Regional University."
The nearly 100-year-old higher education institution was selected "the best" among its peers by the readership of the popular magazine. OKL readers cited Northeastern's location, size, student-to-teacher ratio, and NSU's College of Optometry (Oklahoma's only college of optometry) among their deciding factors for award.
"We are truly honored to be named Oklahoma Living's Best Regional University," said NSU President Dr. Larry Williams. "As we look at the impact higher education has on the state of Oklahoma, we see that regional institutions like NSU produce 60 percent of the college graduates who live and work in our state. That's why all of us at Northeastern believe so strongly in providing an educational value that is second to none. We're proud to be a major contributor to Oklahoma's lifestyle and economy."
