An Interactive Beatles Concert visits NSU – March 29

(Tahlequah, Okla.)-- Beatles fans will get a chance to create their own playlist of the world-famous groups music when Yesterday and Today The Interactive Beatles Experience is performed at the Northeastern State University Center for the Performing Arts at7:30 p.m. on March 29.
Brothers Billy, Ryan and Matthew McGuigan perform as the band Yesterday and Today and focus on creating a unique musical experience by encouraging audience participation. Members of the audience can submit their favorite songs and an accompanying memory, which the band uses to create the song list for the performance. Rather than do an impersonation show, like other cover bands, the brothers use their time on the stage to tell stories that create a tribute show not only to the Beatles, but also to the fans who listened to their music.
I have always loved the Beatles music, and being able to request my favorite song is exciting, Cindy Chanslor, Sequoyah Institute coordinator said.
The McGuigan brothers play the Beatles music in honor of their dad who owned every Beatles album and shared his love of their music with his sons. When their father passed away the brothers formed a band to perform the music they had grown to love. It took the McGuigans three years to learn the Beatles catalog and since 2007 they have been traveling the country entertaining thousands of people, getting to hear everyones favorite Beatles story.
I was able to hear this group in Kansas City and they are great musicians and showmen. I am excited to see what songs our patrons choose for the evening, Chanslor said.
Yesterday & Today - The Interactive Beatles Experience is presented by the Sequoyah Institute as part of its Performing Arts Series. The Sequoyah Institute brings in different touring artists throughout the year as part of the series, which is partially funded by the Oklahoma Arts Council.
