Green and White Flies High Above Tahlequah

Those four green and white Northeastern State University banners flying high above the city are symbols of a partnership between two of Tahlequahs most progressive leaders in technology.

The Southwestern Bell microwave tower that rises above the city skyline is a natural billboard for the communitys landmark institution of higher learning, said Jim Epperson, president of SBC-Southwestern Bell Oklahoma.

Like Southwestern Bell, NSU is guiding the way for technological advances in this community and throughout northeastern Oklahoma, Epperson said. We are thrilled to be in a position to demonstrate our support for the work being done by the university to educate students to compete in the age of technology.

Partnerships that enhance progress are crucial to community growth, said NSU President Larry Williams. This is another example of Northeastern finding ways to partner with entities within the community and foster awareness of the critical role higher education plays in our quality of life and our economic development. These banners are symbols of Redmen pride, and reminders that Northeastern is proud to call Tahlequah home.
