Enrollment Soars at NSU Campuses

Enrollment at Northeastern State University is on the rise again. Consistently increasing in each of the past four semesters, records taken from all three NSU campuses now indicate a 7 percent increase in students from one year ago. Credit hours have also increased by 8.7 percent.

These increases are both astounding and expected, said NSU President, Dr. Larry Williams. Over the past few years, we have devoted ourselves to identifying the needs of our students. Building a new campus in Broken Arrow and offering more diverse class schedules on each of our campuses have enabled both traditional and non-traditional students the freedom to more easily accomplish their educational goals.

The main campus in Tahlequah reports a 5 percent increase in students from one year ago. NSU Tahlequah is also enjoying more than 500 new students on campus since Spring 2000.

An unprecedented event occurred when Spring 2002 enrollment for the NSU Broken Arrow/Tulsa campuses exceeded enrollment for the previous - Fall 2001- semester. NSU-Broken Arrow now serves more than 2,200 graduate and undergraduate students and has seen an increase in enrollment for the past five semesters. The most astounding figure indicates a 43 percent growth in enrollment since Spring 2000, 28 percent of which occurred within one year. Credit-hour production also increased by 33.4 percent over the past year.

NSU-Muskogee has also increased enrollment by more than 2 percent.
