NSU Graduates Fall 2002 Class

NSU Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Janet Bahr, congratulates a graduate candidate during NSUs Fall 2002 Commencement services held on December 14.


TAHLEQUAH, OK Northeastern State University held its fall Commencement services on Saturday, December 14, in the Universitys North Gymnasium. Three ceremonies were conducted to accommodate the 617 graduate candidates from Northeasterns five academic colleges and the professional College of Optometry.

Fall 2002 graduate candidates (from all colleges) have to this date completed the requirements prescribed by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education and by the Board of Regents of Oklahoma Colleges and will be conferred their respective degrees pending a final check of degree requirements.

Northeastern also recognized five retiring faculty members during the ceremonies. NSU bid farewell to 136.5 years of collective knowledge with the retirement of Dr. Robert Greubel, professor of economics (37 years of service); Dr. Ken Collins, professor of education and previous dean of the Graduate College (31.5 years of service); Dr. Jay Munsell, professor of education (36 years of service); Dr. Keith Sawyer, professor of psychology and counseling (11 years of service); and Dr. George Fulk, professor of optometry (20.5 years of service).
