NSUBA Hosts 2003 Gatesway Balloon Festival
TAHLEQUAH In what has become a tradition of community outreach, world-class balloon displays, and great summer fun, the 10th-Annual Gatesway Balloon Festival is returning to Northeastern State University - Broken Arrow, August 1-3.
A family-oriented, nonalcoholic event, the Gatesway International Balloon Festival features approximately 60 hot-air balloons of every size, shape, and variety. The festival boasts a free children's area with all sorts of activities and events including clowns and a youth hot-air balloon contest. A variety of vendors and entertainers will also be on hand serving up mouth-watering food, live entertainment, arts and crafts, as well as displays and activities throughout the weekend.
The annual balloon festival is only one of the ways Gatesway raises money and awareness for their organizational goals. Gatesway's mission is to encourage independence and provide opportunities for people with developmental disabilities that will enable them to live and work in the community and improve their quality of life. Serving people with disabilities for 39 years, Gatesway offers a wide array of residential and vocational services. For more information on the event visit www.gatesway.org.
