Bio
Dr. Boze has a specialization in 19th-century European art, but enjoys teaching all
art history and art appreciation classes at NSU. She has a deep interest in world
cultures, spending a summer in Chile as a foreign exchange student, studying Spanish,
French, Russian and German, and majoring in International Affairs at Texas Christian
University. She received a Fulbright-Hayes fellowship in Ecuador, living in Quito
for over a year. She studied for a Master's of Liberal Studies at the University
of Oklahoma, then received a Rotary fellowship to study art history in Madrid, Spain,
for a year. She continued art history at the University of Kansas with a full fellowship,
getting both a Master's and doctorate. At NSU, she has received several faculty grants
to study Eastern arts and cultures, including one grant that included two weeks traveling
and studying in Korea. NSU awarded her the Circle of Excellence in Teaching, the
highest teaching honor given at her university.

Dr. Bozes publications and current research focus especially on promoting effective
teaching by instructors and greater learning by students, encouraging critical thinking
in both teaching (such as approaches for non-specialists) and learning (such as recognizing
fallacies in popular histories.)
As an art historian, Dr. Bozes principal teaching goal is to utilize the investigating,
associating, and exploring of different art styles and cultures in order to improve
and encourage intellectual thinking, stimulating students to follow a critical method
of questioning, reasoning, and learning.
