Bio

Dr. Mark Paulissen is a Professor of Biology at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, USA.

Education:

  • PhD, Zoology, University of Oklahoma, 1986
  • MS, Zoology, University of Arkansas, 1981
  • BS, Zoology, University of Arkansas, 1979
My students and I study lizard behavior and ecology. Recent work has focused on describing aggressive behaviors in skinks (family Scincidae), studying spatial learning in little brown skinks, and studying the diest of lizards from teh American southwest.
I teach Introductory Biology Lecture, Human Anatomy, Animal Biology, Herpetology, Animal Parasitology Lab, Experimental Design, and Senior Seminar

Intellectual Content:

  • Hybridization between Whiptail Lizards in Texas: Aspidoscelis laredoensis and A. Gularis, with Notes on Reproduction of a Hybrid (Journal Article, Academic Journal), Discovery, Published, March, 2020
  • Intraspecific Aggression in Neonate Common Five-Lined Skinks (Plestiodon fasciatus) (Journal Article, Academic Journal), Discovery, Published, December, 2017
