Bio
Dr. Lara Searcy is an Associate Professor, English Education Specialist at Northeastern
State University in Tahlequah, OK where she teaches English teacher candidates. Searcy
is a former high school English language arts teacher and middle school literacy resource
specialist who is Nationally Board Certified (NBCT AYA-ELA, 2011). She earned her
Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction, English Education from the University of Arkansas
in 2018. She was awarded the Circle of Excellence in Teaching Award (2018) and the
Graduate Mentor Faculty Award (2022) from NSU.
