Bio
Dr. Lara Searcy is an Associate Professor, English Education Specialist at Northeastern
State University in Tahlequah, OK where she teaches English teacher candidates. Searcy
is a former graduate of the B.A.Ed. English Education and the M.Ed. Instructional
Leadership programs at NSU. She earned her Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction, English
Education from the University of Arkansas. She is a former high school English language
arts teacher and middle school literacy resource specialist who is Nationally Board
Certified (NBCT AYA-ELA, 2011). She was awarded the Circle of Excellence in Teaching
Award (2018) and the Graduate Mentor Faculty Award (2022) from NSU.
