Dr. Lee Miller Smith is an Assistant Professor of mechanical engineering in the College
of Science and Health Professions and the Mechanical Engineering program.

Dr. Smith's research focuses on bio-product manufacturing, material characterization,
experimental design, and project management. The goal of his research is to develop
ways to utilize biomass, waste, and scrap and upcycle them into value added product
that can promote a sustainable economy.
Dr. Smith's teaching interest are in the areas of Mechanics (statics, Dynamics and
solid Mechanics), Manufacturing, Materials, Experimental Design, and Data Analysis.
