Bio

Dr. Andrew Vassar grew up in Chandler, Oklahoma, and went on to the University of Tulsa. He was lucky enough to spend his Junior Year Abroad at Homerton College, Cambridge, England, earning degrees in Art History and English with a minor in Philosophy. He earned his Masters at the University of Oklahoma and Ph.D. from the University of Arkansas.

  • BA, English and Art History, University of Tulsa, Cum laude, 1991
American literature, Native American Literature, Asian Studies.
Dr. Vassar's early academic career focused in American Literature, with a focus on Native American Literature, especially Theater. In more recent years, he has become more of generalist, teaching classes as diverse as Philosophy, Comparative Religion, and Global Humanities.
