Committee: Student Conduct Appeals

Membership

Five faculty appointed by the President from ten nominations by the Faculty Council, two staff representatives appointed by the President from four nominations by Staff Council, and four students appointed by the President from eight nominations by the Northeastern Student Government Association. Chair is one of the faculty members chosen by the committee. Nominees do not have to hold positions within the nominating body, but can be members of the campus community at large.  Appointed members will serve two-year rotating terms.  The chair is voted on by the committee membership for each individual appeal hearing. Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs will serve as an ex officio, non-voting member.

Function

This committee consisting of faculty and students considers the appeal of cases resulting in suspension, expulsion, degree revocation or rescindment of credit hours. It allows for students to have a due process hearing. The committee reports to the Vice President for Student Affairs and the President.

Meetings
