Committee: University Policy

Membership

Seven members with representation from multiple administrative areas to include:  Director of Human Resources (serves as ex officio, non-voting, when not representing a cabinet member), representatives from each Vice President area, General Counsel (ex officio, non-voting), President of Faculty Council, representative of Staff Council.  The members will identify a committee chair at the beginning of each academic year. The Chair will select the Recorder each year.

Function

This committee leads the review process for all proposed new/revised university-wide policies. The committee serves as a resource to university departments regarding policy development and implementation. This committee reviews, recommends and forwards policies to the Cabinet (through the appropriate Vice President) for final approval.  After final approval, the appropriate VP is responsible for sending out notification of change, new policy, or update.

Meetings

The committee meets monthly based on established meeting dates.  Meetings can only be canceled by the Chair.
