Commencement FAQ

The application for graduation is available by clicking here , or online through your goNSU. Open the ‘Students’ tab, then select ‘Apply for Graduation’. You must submit a separate application for each degree or certificate you are seeking.

You may still apply and participate in the commencement ceremony. However, due to the late submission your name may not appear in the program.

Once the Office of the Registrar completes final degree audits, students with deficiencies will be notified via email (sent to their NSU student account), and further instructions will be provided.

To ensure your name will be in the program, you must submit your graduation application by October 1st for fall commencement and March 1st for spring and summer commencement.

Students can purchase all commencement regalia through the bookstore, or online by clicking here.

Diplomas are generally mailed out 6-8 weeks following the date of conferral.

Holds will not prevent a student from having their degree conferred. However, diplomas are not released until any hold has been resolved. For more information regarding this, contact the Office of the Registrar at 918-444-2208.

All diplomas are mailed via standard mail to the address provided on your graduation application.

You can send your updated address via email to Registrar@nsuok.edu. These requests must come from your student email and must include your NSU student ID number.

See Approved Commencement Regalia on the NSU commencement page.

No! There are no tickets sold for commencement. Admissions is free and does not require a ticket. Seats are available on a first come, first served basis.

Students can invite as many as they would like to witness their special day.

Final grades are normally updated to transcripts the Thursday following the end of finals week. However, conferral dates could take up to 6 weeks to reflect on transcripts.

Students graduating in the summer semester participate in the preceding spring ceremony. For example, if you plan to graduate in summer, you will participate in the spring ceremony. Summer graduates will apply for summer graduation, but will "walk" with the spring graduates.
