Estimated Cost

The NSU Cost Calculator gives an early approximation of what a new student can expect to pay to attend NSU during the academic year 2023-2024. It is not an application for financial aid and the results are estimates, not guarantees.

The tuition amount shown is the standard rate for tuition and mandatory fees per credit hour enrolled. These are estimates based upon current tuition and fee rates. Tuition and fee rates for future semesters become official when they are approved by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. Until that action, the estimated tuition and fees rate is subject to change. Learn more information about guaranteed tuition rates.

Tuition amount totals are based upon the number of credit hours enrolled. In order to be considered full-time, an undergraduate student must enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester and a graduate student must enroll in a minimum of nine credit hours per semester.

Students who are residents of states other than Oklahoma will be charged a higher tuition cost. We know that may seem a bit overwhelming but don't be discouraged! You could be eligible for a non-resident tuition waiver that can waive all or a portion of your non-resident tuition. For complete details about eligibility, please visit our Out-of-State Scholarships page.

In addition, the NSU Cost Calculator does not attempt to list all costs that an individual student may incur. Some one time fees have not been included and some students may have additional fees associated with specific courses taken.

For this estimate, traditional housing is considered a double occupancy room in our traditional residence halls. Learn more information about Housing & Residence Life.

For those selecting an on-campus housing option, the NSU Cost Calculator includes the cost of an average meal plan, as well as $625 per semester for textbooks in the total estimate. Meal costs are not included in the calculation for students selecting an off-campus housing option.

The NSU Cost Calculator does not include estimates for expenses such as incidental items, transportation and entertainment.

International Students

Additional international student fees include a $50 one-time orientation fee and a $150 per semester international fee. If an international student is not already covered by health insurance valid in the US, he or she will be required to purchase coverage. Incoming international freshmen, transfer or graduate students who live on campus may be eligible for a scholarship waiving 50% of their nonresident tuition. This program waives only a percentage of the nonresident portion. For complete details about eligibility, please visit Non-Resident Scholarships.
