Apply yourself from day one. You’re here for a reason—to get an education, to better yourself, to give back to the community in some way, shape or form.
I took a tour of NSU and automatically fell in love with it. I got the letter ten days later. It was the longest ten days of my life. Right then I went back to Tahlequah, signed up for my classes and I started applying myself even harder, because I knew this was a university and I really wanted to do it right this time.
I’m on the honor roll—again. It’s amazing. A lot of people probably have the same story that I have. It’s never too late to go back. I’m 27 years old and I will graduate when I am 29 or 30. At the end of the day, I am going to have that piece of paper and I’m going to be where I want to be in life.
