Northeastern Science Programs to Get New Facility

TAHLEQUAH Progress continues on Northeastern State University's eagerly awaited science laboratory building. Funded by a $10 million revenue bond issued by the University, the laboratory facility is in the final design stages with the Dewberry Design Group in Tulsa. Tentative plans have construction beginning in Fall 2004, and University officials expect the facility to be open for classes by Spring 2007.
Located on the east side of the current science building, the new three-floor facility will be connected through a main entrance and serve the physics, chemistry, and biology programs. The new laboratory building includes space for both teaching and research in all three disciplines.
"Northeastern's new science facility is a well-deserved addition to the University's exceptional physics, chemistry, and biology faculty," said Dr. Craig Clifford, dean of the College of Science and Health Professions. "The state-of-the-art environment will give our faculty the advantage they need to produce outstanding graduates."
