Largest NSU Fall Commencement Set For Saturday

Published: 2006-12-13

TAHLEQUAH On Saturday, Dec. 16, Northeastern State University will reach another historic milestone, conferring the largest number of degrees at a fall commencement to date.

Around 750 students are eligible to receive degrees during the three ceremonies at Jack Dobbins Field House on the Tahlequah campus.

The degrees will be awarded as follows:
9 a.m. - College of Business and Technology;
11:30 p.m. - College of Liberal Arts and College of Science & Health Professions;
2 p.m. College of Education.

Due to the number of graduates, limited seating is available in the field house. Tickets must be picked up prior to commencement. Graduates at the 9 and 11:30 a.m. ceremonies can get up to 10 tickets, and graduates of the 2 p.m. ceremony can receive 6 tickets. Tickets may be picked up at Office of Admissions and Records in Tahlequah, Front Office in the Administration Building in Muskogee, and the Student Service Area in Building A Room 130 in Broken Arrow.

If you have questions regarding the tickets or other items, call 918-444-2200. Tickets cannot be picked up at the door on the day of the event.

All guests who want to sit in Jack Dobbins Field House must present a ticket at the main entrance on the south side of the building. Other family and friends without tickets will be directed to the NET Auditorium or Center for Performing Arts where the ceremonies will be transmitted live.

Doors will open for ticket entry into the field house 30 minutes before the scheduled start time for each ceremony.

Fall commencement began in 1998 to provide December graduates a formal opportunity to celebrate their achievements without having to wait until spring commencement in May.
