River City Players Begin Rehearsals

TAHLEQUAH The stars of this years River City Players cast will shine this summer at the debut of the Northeastern State University Stars in the Summer Series on June 14.

The River City Players cast, band and crew began rehearsals this week for two shows, Rockin Across the USA! and Old Time Rock N Roll.

"We have an incredible cast this summer," said Robyn Magee Pursley, River City Players Director. "All of the performers are strong individual singers and dancers, and when they come together on stage, its a spectacle that cant be missed."

Rockin Across the USA! runs Thursdays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. at the Shawnee Street Theatre. Old Time Rock N Roll runs Fridays at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 2 p.m. at the Shawnee Street Theatre.

"Rockin Across the USA! features music from across the nation, with stops from coast to coast," said Megan White, director of the Sequoyah Institute. "Old time Rock N Roll is the best of the classic rock hits. Theres a song for all kinds of music lovers at the River City shows."

The 2007 NSU Stars in the Summer Series runs every weekend from Thursday, June 14 through Saturday, Aug. 4.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for NSU alumni and employees, $8 for seniors, and $6 for students, children and groups of 20 or more. For reservations, call 918-458-2075. June is early bird month, with a $1 discount for shows from June 14 through June 30.
