NSU Science and Technology Seminar Series

(Tahlequah, Okla.) The topic of life on Mars takes center stage Sept. 28 as Northeastern State University presents the third lecture of its 2011 Science and Technology Seminar Series.

Dr. Tim Kral of the University of Arkansas Department of Biological Sciences will discuss Methanogens: A Model for Life on Mars.

Since 1992, Kral has collaborated with Dr. Chris McKay of the NASA Ames Research Center, working with methanogenic microorganisms as possible life forms existing below the surface of Mars. Krals research interests include streptococcal physiology and genetics, antibiotic and fluoride sensitivity and resistance and space biology.

The NSU Science and Technology Seminar Series is arranged by Dr. John de Banzie, professor of biology.
