(Broken Arrow, Okla.) If you are interested in possible teaching positions, circle Tuesday, Nov. 1 on your calendar.

Northeastern State University Career Services will host the Fall 2011 Teacher Fair that day in the second floor ballroom of Administrative Services on the Broken Arrow campus.

During the past two weeks our office has received notice of 12 teacher vacancies and two available positions in speech and language pathology, said Gayle Anderson, Career Services coordinator.

School representatives will meet with potential employees to discuss employment opportunities during open forum from 10-11:30 a.m. Lunch is 11:30 a.m. noon. Afterward formal interviews begin. Students and alumni wishing to interview must attend the open forum to schedule a time.

The fair provides an opportunity for our education majors to meet one-on-one with school district representatives, Anderson said. Recruiters will discuss the types of teaching careers and vacancies within their entity and required qualifications.

Graduate schools also attend to answer questions regarding application requirements. Attendees should come well-dressed and bring plenty of resumes.

Some districts already registered to participate include Bartlesville, Chandler, Cherokee Nation, Locust Grove, Muskogee, Special Education Cooperative at Goddard, Tulsa and Wichita, Kan.
