Continuing Education offering ACT prep camp

Published: 2012-10-01

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Registration is open for Continuing Education's ACT exam preparation camps at Northeastern State University.

ACT prep courses are instructional classes open to anyone preparing to take the ACT test. The next camp is Oct. 23-25 and meets 5:30-7:30 p.m. each day. Camps meet in Room 115 of Seminary Hall on the Tahlequah campus, and in Room 170 of the Administrative Services building on the Broken Arrow campus.

"The ACT prep is one of our long-running programs and has been refreshed by the energy and hard work of our team," said Rachel Farinelli, director of Continuing Education. "Students will hear from NSU faculty and staff who are trained in ACT prep and bring their own expertise and love of teaching to this program."

Farinelli said the camps allow students to focus on specific areas of the ACT and answer practice questions.

"They can learn important strategies for successful testing and gain confidence and knowledge about what to expect on the ACT," she said. "Preparation in these areas is key to raising test scores, ensuring competitive college entrance and enhancing scholarship eligibility."

Testing strategies preparation is Tuesday, English and reading prep meets Wednesday, and math and science prep is Thursday. Students may attend any single session for $30 or the entire camp for $75.

Another ACT prep camp is scheduled Dec. 4-6. For more information about the camps call Deb Amlin at 918-444-4617.
