NSU’s Sequoyah Institute presents Franc D’Ambrosio

Published: 2016-11-11

(Tahlequah, Oklahoma)--Northeastern State Universitys Sequoyah Institute presents Franc DAmbrosio in concert as part of their 2016-2017 Performing Arts Series. The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 2 at the NSU Center for the Performing Arts.

D'Ambrosio is best known for his impressive portrayal of the "Phantom" in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Tony Award-winning musical, The Phantom of the Opera. Affectionately known as Phantom's "The Iron Man of the Mask," D'Ambrosio was awarded the distinction as the world's longest running Phantom, a title he held for more than a decade. He also studied with the late legendary tenor Luciano Pavarotti, at his home in Italy for an entire summer.

D'Ambrosio brings to Tahlequah an evening of classic Christmas music the entire family can enjoy.

His rich voice and theatrical performance will bring new life into an evening of traditional Christmas music; from Here Comes Santa Clause to O Holy Night this evening of music is sure to start off our holiday season in a merry way, Cindy Chanslor, Sequoyah Institute coordinator, said. We encourage groups of friends, neighbors, churches, and civic groups to take advantage of our group discount of $4 off per ticket. It will be a great evening to spend together.

Chanslor said vocal students from NSU are in for a treat. Before the show, DAmbrosio will meet with these students to share his skill and technique and give tips from an insider in the field of the performing arts.

Tickets for the evening performance can be purchased online at www.nsuok.edu/si, by phone at 918-458-2075 or in person 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Sequoyah Institute Box Office located at 529 Seminary Ave. Tickets will also be available at the Center for the Performing Arts Box Office beginning one hour prior to show time.

The Sequoyah Institute Performing Arts Series is partially funded by a grant from the Oklahoma Arts Council. The Sequoyah Institute can be reached by phone at 918-458-2075.
